Here at Belmar we focus on intentional breeding so that we can produce quality puppies that are excellent representations of the standard. When we bring a life into the world, we make sure it gets the best start possible. This includes proper health care and socialization for each puppy, but it starts even earlier than birth. We set our puppies up for success by carefully selecting the parents of each litter, keeping in mind factors such as health, temperament, conformation, ability, and drive. Our goal is to produce well-balanced puppies and find them loving, responsible homes.

Our puppies are born in my bedroom as they get older are moved into the living room of our home. They are well socialized here and are exposed to many kinds noise and different sounds. Our puppies are health checked, vaccinated and microchipped by our Veterinarian before they go to their new homes. Puppies are available to go to their new homes when then are 10 weeks of age or older. We do not ship our puppies. You will have to fly in to our nearest Airport (Charleston, WV) to pick up your puppy or if you can't fly you may use an approved flight Nanny. We prefer if you can come in person to pick up. We can also meet you part way if that helps with drive if you are coming from a distance away.

 

We follow the recommendations of our National Breed Club, The American Shetland Sheepdog Association and perform HIP and Eye health clearances as well as the recommended DNA testing on all of our shelties before they are bred.
